Custom Parameters For Merchants:

How to use custom parameters for tracking:

You can set up custom parameters to have better visibility on your visitor tracking. If you want to track your sales origin before the checkout page and see all the details in your reporting, you must add custom parameters to your URL. See the list below for custom parameters you can use:

ParameterDescription How to use it?
Mkey1, Mkey2, Mkey3...Mkey10
Merchant custom parameters. You can define and pass to us any value as mkey1-mkey10 (50 characters max for each). These value will appear in the reporting and will be passed back to you through the IPNs and/or pixel tracking.

Add to your url: &mkey1=value
&mkey2=value
&mkey3=... e.g: &mkey1=adwords&mkey2=adgroup1&mkey3=...

Note: Keep in mind that you need to place your visitor tracking script to your landing page if you want to see all the clicks (traffic). Without this script, you will only see the sales (and no traffic). The visitor tracking script will write a cookie on the user machine allowing you to track and record information such as:

  • IP Address
  • Country
  • State
  • Website
  • Date time
  • Referrer URL
  • Search Engine Name
  • Search Engine Keyword
  • Browser Type and Version
  • Affiliate ( if used)
  • Custom Parameters (if sent)

In order to implement the visitor tracking you will have to add the following script in the HTML source of your landing page. You can put it anywhere before the html tag:

Every time an affiliate offer is created, a specific script will be generated. To find this script, login to your merchant account, click on the tab “My Marketplace” then “affiliate offers”. Click on the affiliate offer and you will see the visitor tracking script on step 4. Within the tracking script you will find your website ID and merchant ID.

Where:

  • mWID is the website (affiliate offer) identifier, and it is provided and registered via your merchant account. It is mandatory for the mWID to match the “ref“ parameter used by the checkout link related to your page. The mWID and the “ref“ should both refer to the same website.

  • mUID is your Upclick merchant identifier. It is also provided through the user interface.
