A/B Testing
A/B testing, also known as split testing, is a simple way to test changes to a Checkout page.
By using A/B testing you compare performance of similar pages to determine which one performs best.
By testing your changes on a small group of users before implementing them in a large scale, you get quantitative answers about what modifications create positive results. By constantly testing and optimizing your pages you can increase your checkout leads and revenues.
In the previous section you learned to create and save a checkout link. When you click on ‘get link’, you have the possibility to put it to testing and compare it with other existing can choose to test any combination of checkout links, up to a total of 10 checkout links in one test. In this way, you can experiment with different Checkout Designs or Pricing Models to see which suites your clientele best.
To reach the A/B testing option, navigate to ‘My Checkout Links’--> ‘Checkout Links’. Look for the name of the first link you want to test. In the line that represents the link on the list, click on ‘Get Link’, then check the ‘Activate A/B Testing’ checkbox.
You can specify and control the following aspects related to the test:
- Activate/Deactivate the test
- Adjust start date and end date of the test
- Optionally, limit the maximum number of leads (checkout views) for the test; When the number is reached, the test will be automatically deactivated.
- Traffic splitting method:
- "% of Traffic" - the traffic split is manually adjustable.
- "Round Robin" - the checkout links will be served equitably.
One of the advantages of using the A/B testing option, is that traffic will be redirected from one checkout link to another without having to deploy a new checkout link. Ultimately, the tool can be used also as a traffic redirector.
Remember, in order to see the testing results you will use the Tracking Campaign, embedded in every checkout link when you define it. Thanks to the Tracking campaign we are able to track the leads and conversions for each variation you test.
To learn more about Tracking capabilities, please refer to the ‘Tracking’ section.
